Celebrate World Health Day April 7th

April 7, 2021

World Healthy Day is celebrated as a global health awareness day by the World Health Organization (WHO) and other related organizations on April 7th every year. Starting in 1950, the World Health Day is celebrated on April 7th of each year. The First World Health Assembly held The World Health Day to mark WHO’s founding and is seen as an opportunity by the organization to drive worldwide attention to a subject of major importance for global health each year. World Health Day is one of eight official global health annual campaigns marked by WHO, along with World Tuberculosis Day, World Immunization Week, World Malaria Day, World No Tobacco Day, World AIDS Day, World Blood Donor Day, and World Hepatitis Day.

Since its inception, the Worth Health Day highlights a different theme and theme each year selected by the current WHO Director-General, based on the suggestions of the member governments and staff. World Health Day provides a global opportunity to focus attention on important public health issues that affect the international community. World Health Day 2021, the focus is on a new campaign to build a fairer, healthier world. As the COVID-19 global pandemic has shown, some people are able to live healthier lives and have better access to health services than others – entirely due to the conditions in which they are born, grow, live, work and age.

As a business focused on healthy food solutions, we encourage you to be healthy everyday, but especially on World Health Day.  Read on for some ideas on how to celebrate World Health Day at home and in the office.

Get Outside For A Run Or A Hike

Physical health is just as important in today’s time when we’re all cooped up at home amid the pandemic. If you have kids at home, this is a great way to get them involved. Take your kids for a run or a hike and teach them that physical fitness is an important part of self-care.

Take Time For Mental Health

Mental health is as important as physical health. If you have kids, make sure to have a discussion with your kids about mental health and the importance of mindfulness and meditation. Take 10-15 minutes out of your day to meditate and see if you can include your kid as part of the meditation session.

Take a step to making healthcare and mental healthcare accessible for the underprivileged by donating towards the cause.

Raise Awareness

Attend a virtual seminar on global health care and the issues of access and inequity. This can widen the horizons of your knowledge and make it easier to contribute towards the cause.

Take a moment to raise awareness about global health-related problems via social media. By posting Instagram, Facebook or Twitter, it can help in getting the conversation started. Then, also make sure to thank the health care heroes and frontline workers who became the backbone of our nation amid the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Commit To Healthy Eating

Make a healthy eating resolution as we get ready for warmer weather . On World Health Day, make a promise to eat healthy and nutritious food and remember that it’s never too late to start a healthy lifestyle.

Get Healthy At Work Challenge

Wondering about healthy activities to do at work? If so, we have a suggestion! Plan a health and wellness seminar in your office and it can be a virtual one, if you’re working from home.

Create A Fitness Challenge

Challenge your team to get healthy this Spring and Summer. Incentivize fitness or exercise goals. Hold a fitness related competition with a prize that makes everyone at work want to take it up. Give the winner a gym membership or a fitness band to drive home the point. Or a smaller step would be to host a fun yoga or workout session at work. It can be a great way to unwind while you celebrate World Health Day at work.

Get Rid Of Unhealthy Snacks

Ban all unhealthy snacks at work. Health is also about nutrition and most of us tend to snack on unhealthy food items while we work. Banning such snacks can go a long way in promoting good health. We can help create a healthy snack delivery program for your office – just ask!

Hold A Blood Drive

Involve your team in a get healthy event. Hold a blood donation drive or a health checkup drive at the office. Or provide locations where they may participate if they work from home. Lastly, perhaps ask your employees if they wish to sign up for organ donation. This can be a great World Health Day activity.

Focus On Mental Health

Mental health is a much-ignored topic, especially in the workplace. Normalize a conversation around mental health by organizing a seminar with an expert. You can also call in a psychiatrist to hold individual stress management sessions with everyone. Workplace wellbeing and mental health can go a long way in making the office a safe space for anyone and everyone with mental health problems.

On this day, the World Health Organization spreads messages on the importance of health to masses. A healthy person can face the world with greater inner strength. Give us a shout to see how we can help you and your employees stay healthy at work with our healthy snack delivery program! So, on World Health Day and everyday, help spread the message of the importance of staying healthy and ways to stay healthy.
